DBSA Chat

Welcome to the DBSA Chat. Please choose a nickname to use in the chat rooms, and type it into the box below. Then click "Connect" to begin chatting.

It may take a few minutes for the chat room software to load on your computer. The speed depends on how fast your Internet connection is. Best results are obtained with a high-speed connection, while dial-up modems take longer. We appreciate your patience.

If there are other people logged in at DBSA Chat, you will see their nicknames displayed.

Please remember, these chat rooms are not monitored. If this is an emergency or you need immediate assistance, please call your health care provider, a counseling center in your community or 1-800-273-TALK.

Some users may not be able to access the chat room or they may be booted out at random times and not permitted to re-enter due to technical difficulties with the software or the interface between the user's ISP, modem speed, and DBSAlliance.org's software and server.

If the "nickname box" is not appearing, please try the following:

§      Install java. You can do this by going to www.java.com and clicking on the java software download on the right hand side of the page. This is a free download.

§         Make sure you have enabled Java in the advanced settings found under the web browser's 'Tools'  > 'Internet Options' menu options. You will also need to uncheck any items that enable MSVM.

§         If you are still having problems loading the chat applet, open the Sun Java Console, located under the ‘Tools’ menu option and send any error messages that it reports to webmaster@DBSAlliance.org.
