personal process that can take time. Be sure to find someone you
feel you can speak with openly and honestly and don’t hesitate to
get a second opinion.
As you search for a health care professional, keep
in mind that you have a right to expect certain things, no matter
who you are, what challenges you are facing or how much money you
have. You have a right to:
- Privacy, confidentiality and respect
- Sensitivity to your needs and background
- An explanation of the treatment you are receiving
and why
- Freedom to express yourself
- Freedom to find another professional if you if
you aren't satisfied with your treatment or don't think it’s
working as well as it should.
