Dear Friend,

Have you heard about this great mental health conference?

Each year the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) hosts conferences that bring together people living with depression and bipolar disorder and families and friends to discover new recovery skills. Get the latest news on treatment options from renowned experts in the field of mental health and become inspired to "make recovery real" for you or your loved one.

This year the conferences will be held in the following locations:

CALIFORNIA
(San Francisco Airport)
Marriott San Mateo
1770 S. Amphlett Blvd.
San Mateo , CA 94402

ILLINOIS
(Chicago O'Hare Airport)
Wyndham O'Hare
6810 N. Mannheim Road
Rosemont, IL 60618

Saturday, September 9th Saturday, October 21st

Some of the educational sessions that will be offered at the conference are:

  • Victoria Maxwell: Keynote address from this award-winning actress/writer. Victoria's humorous, irreverent story of her personal recovery disarms the stigma surrounding mental illness while providing crucial information on how to deal with it openly and effectively.

  • Ask the Doctors: Get answers to your questions from a panel of nationally-recognized medical and mental health professionals.

  • Recovery...What it Means to You: An interactive round-table discussion of how we can make recovery a reality for ourselves and our loved ones.

  • Nine (9) Educational Breakout Sessions: Choose three of nine sessions covering topics such as: New Treatment Research, Disability & Housing, Creating the Life You Want, Pain as a Symptom, Supported Employment, Successful Aging & Mood Disorders, Talking to Depression, Dealing with Mania, Becoming Your Best Advocate, Psychiatric Service Dogs and The Bipolar Advantage. Note: sessions vary by conference.

  • Randy Revelle, J.D.: Keynote address from this nationally-recognized leader of health care reform. Randy will present "Overcoming the Stigma: A Personal Story of Recovery from Mental Illness" which will no doubt serve as an inspiration to all.
